  Ho! Ho! Ho!
Michelle's Sweet Expressions offers a variety of candy arrangements for Christmas and all other special occasions, according to Michelle Mackey, the owner of the business.
"They're done up with candy bars and candy roses, things like that," Michelle said. "We also have incense burners (some with religious messages) and potpourri burners and silk arrangements."
The arrangements in the black vases filled with Hershey bars and Heath bars are appropriate for "an over-the-hill" type of celebration.
Michelle's Sweet Expressions can provide get well arrangements. "They're not made with candy," Michelle said. "They're made with cough drops, vitamin lollipops and chicken noodle soup..."
Michelle's Sweet Expressions can fill special orders. "They can choose their colors," Michelle said. "They can choose the candies they want, basically anything they want. All they have to do is give me 24 hours notice, and I'll get it done."
The goal at the shop, according to Michelle's husband, Randy, "is to make people happy and to bring joy to their lives."
Michelle describes the shop's atmosphere as "colorful and friendly."
Randy, who drilled the holes in the glass incense burners featured at the shop, says the atmosphere "is welcoming."
Michelle's Sweet Expressions has baskets featuring sparkling grape juice. "It's non-alcoholic," Michelle said. "It comes with wine glasses. It's mainly for new mothers that can't drink," as well as for students who are graduating but who are not old enough to drink alcohol.
Michelle's Sweet Expressions offers free delivery to Carter County and Johnson City locations, such as nursing homes, hospitals, schools, businesses and churches.
Michelle's sister, Micki, previously operated a similar shop in Cherokee, N.C. "We did things for the Harris Casino," Michelle said. "We delivered for the schools, and we did all these arrangements for the schools."
"We'd like to wish everybody a 'Merry Christmas' and a 'Happy New Year,'" Randy said. "God bless our troops, and God bless everybody."
Michelle's Sweet Expressions, which also has helium balloons, is located at 204 Broad St. The business, which opened on Dec. 1, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
