CCFCA adopts families for Christmas, sets fundraisers

The Carter County Foster Care Association (CCFCA) has adopted two local families for Christmas.
These families are having challenges and were not going to have enough funds for Christmas. The CCFCA members have donated gifts towards their wish lists in hopes the five children will enjoy the holidays.
The CCFCA is having its third annual basketball benefit on Saturday, Dec. 27, at Unaka Elementary School gym. The first game will start at 10:30 a.m. The concession stand will have hotdogs, chili, popcorn, pop, and candy for the fans.
Six basketball games will include teams from the Carter County girls and boys youth groups ranging in age from the Junior Cadets (6-9 year olds), the Cadets, (9-11 year olds), and the PeeWees, 11-14 year olds). Then the coaches from the boys will play against the girls coaches, with the players as coaches and refs for a few laughs.
The teams are from Unaka, Hunter, Valley Forge and Central. The league refs are coming out to officiate.
The concessions and the door proceeds go directly to the Carter County Foster Association's families fund.
