Man reports juvenile selling Christmas
ornaments in fraud scheme
From Staff Reports
A resident of Roan Mountain reported to Elizabethton
Police Department Ptl. Jerry Bradley that a juvenile male
entered his business on Siam Road and told him that he was
selling Christmas ornaments for his church fund-raiser.
The man reported the subject told him the ornaments
were made by ladies at the church but that the decorations
looked "store bought" to him, according to the report. He
became suspicious and contacted the church the subject said
he was from, East Side Christian Church. He said someone from
the church told him that they were having no such fund-raiser
and did not know the individual attempting to sell the ornaments.
According to police reports, the juvenile is
described as being a white male, 10-12 years of age and possibly
traveling in a small brown two-door vehicle with other individuals.
