center escapee still on the loose

An inmate who escaped from a Washington County
Detention Center work detail Saturday afternoon is still on
the loose, according to WCDC officials.
Milton Jerry Cook, 27, walked away from his work
detail at the Jonesborough Waste Water Treatment Plant at approximately
12:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to WCDC Chief Brenda Downes, Cook then
stole a 1993 Dodge pickup truck that belonged to the city of
Jonesborough.
Cook faces charges of escape and theft of a motor
vehicle if he is captured.
Cook is described as a white male about six feet
tall with brown hair and eyes and weighing approximately 215
pounds with a medium build, according to Downes. He was jailed
on charges of theft and violation of probation and is not considered
to be armed or dangerous.
