ESB to consider revised polices From Staff ReportsThe Elizabethton School Board will consider adopting revised board policies on second reading at its next regular meeting, 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in the Mack Pierce Board Room, 804 S. Watauga Ave., Elizabethton. The policies relate to public hearings, administrative procedures, tobacco-free schools, advertising and distribution of materials in schools, special programs, web pages, graduation requirements, testing programs, suspension/dismissal of non-tenured and tenured teachers and non-certified employees, retirement, qualifications and duties of the director of schools, student guidance program, student surveys and student records annual notification. The board will also consider: * Approving the addition of ING-Aetna Financial Services annuity programs offered to employees through payroll deduction; * New hires: Teresa Calloway and Teresa Sheppard, EHS cooks; * Transfers: Mary Ann Williams from a part-time Harold McCormick cafeteria manager/part-time Child Nutrition Program coordinator to a full-time Child Nutrition Program coordinator; Kathy Parlier from an EHS cook to Harold McCormick cafeteria manager; Amber Honeycutt from an EHS English teacher to EHS interim assistant principal for the remainder of the 2001-02 school year; and, * Substitute teachers: Nathan Copeland, Sherilyn Bacon, Donald J. Marotta and Robert S. Martin. * Approving the purchase of one Dell PowerEdge 2500 server to replace non-working server at East Side Elementary School on the State Contract Award #9903; * Approving the June 30, 2001 Elizabethton Board of Education Financial Statement with Auditor's Report; and, * Approving the June 30, 2001 Audit for Schools' Activity Funds. Dr. Jonathan Bremer, board chairman, is also expected to give a report on the 2001 Tennessee School Boards Association Convention, Nov. 10-13. | |||||||
