N.C. man arrested in thefts

From Staff Reports
A North Carolina teenager was arrested Monday and charged in connection with two burglaries which occurred in Roan Mountain.
Joshua Dean Clawson, 19, was arrested Monday morning by Carter County Sheriff's Department Inv. Laverne Julian and charged with theft over $1,000.
According to reports, on June 18 of this year, Larry Trusler reported to CCSD officers that someone walked onto his property at 376 Bluegrass Rd. in Roan Mountain and had stolen approximately $600 worth of lumber from that location.
"On July 1, Mr. Trusler reported that another theft had occurred at the same location where lumber was once again taken along with roofing shingles and vinyl siding, all of which totaled around $500," Julian states in his report.
During the course of the investigation into the two thefts, Clawson was developed as a suspect, according to Julian's report.
"Mr. Clawson was arrested by fugitive recovery officers because he failed to appear on a previous charge," Julian states in his report. After Clawson was taken into custody, Julian served a warrant on him charging him in connection with the June theft.
