Spritzer appointed to TTDC Board

NASHVILLE -- Lt. Governor and Speaker of the Senate John S. Wilder (D-Mason) recently appointed Dr. Allan D. Spritzer to serve on the Tennessee Technology Development Corporation Board for a four-year term.
Spritzer is Professor of Management and Marketing at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. His appointment follows a recommendation made by Sen. Rusty Crowe (R-Johnson City), an East Tennessee veteran lawmaker.
In the appointment letter addressed to Dr. Spritzer, Lt. Gov. Wilder stated, "Senator Crowe has expressed his confidence in your abilities and has recommended that I appoint you to this Board. I appreciate your willingness to serve."
Sen. Crowe stated after Spritzer's appointment: "I appreciate the confidence and trust Lt. Gov. Wilder has placed in Spritzer. As sponsor of the Tennessee Technology Development Corporation, I was very proud to recommend him for this appointment."
Since 1999, Spritzer has been the chairholder of the Allen and Ruth Harris Chair of Excellence in Business in which capacity he serves as a university representative and consultant to businesses and individuals throughout Tennessee and the Southeast.
From 1981-1999, Spritzer served as Dean of the College of Business at ETSU. Dr. Spritzer received his B.A. in 1963 from City College of New York, his M.A. in 1964 from the University of Illinois, and his Ph.D. in 1971 from Cornell University. He was recognized by The Business Journal of the Tri-Cities Tennessee/Virginia in 1998 as one of the region's top 25 executives.
