JC teenager arrested for theft of $10,000

   Johnson City Police Bureau officers on Wednesday afternoon arrested an 18-year-old male for theft over $10,000. The arrest stemmed from an investigation into a reported auto theft that occurred at Bi-Lo Market, 2307 Watauga Road, Johnson City.
   In addition to the theft charge, police arrested Dustin Hyatt, 2503 Fulton Drive, Johnson City, for aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, and felony evading.
   According to officers, while Hyatt was fleeing the scene, he cut through a yard, almost striking a man mowing his yard, then struck another vehicle at East Fairview and Mercury and left the scene. Later, Hyatt nearly struck a police cruiser head-on.
   Hyatt is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $24,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court today.
