TDOT to hold meeting on Elizabethton Connector

   A corridor and design public meeting will be held to discuss the proposed construction of the Elizabethton Connector. The Tennessee Department of Transportation will hold the meeting Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the drill hall of the National Guard Armory, 128 Don Lewis Blvd.
   The proposal involves the construction of a four-lane highway from SR-67 (US-321) to SR-37 (US-19E) in Elizabethton. The section will include four traffic lanes and a continuous center lane. The entire length of the project is an estimated 3.9 miles.
   The hearing will be run from 5 to 7 p.m. in an open house style. There will be no formal presentation and the public is invited to arrive at any time during the two-hour period.
   Representatives with DOT will be present to provide information about the project. They will answer questions about the location, major design features, relocation assistance, tentative schedules for right-of-way acquisition and construction, and other matters of interest related to the project.
   The public will have the opportunity to make opinions known. People are encouraged to ask questions and make comments during the hearing.
