Woman indicted in assault case failed to appear in court

  A North Carolina woman was arrested early Thursday morning after she allegedly failed to appear in court after being indicted on aggravated assault charges.
  Brandy Hendrix Hudson, 28, 392 Teen Valley Ranch Rd., Plumtree, N.C., was arrested shortly after midnight Thursday morning by Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Donald White on a capias charging her with failure to appear in court.
  Hudson was indicted in January on a charge of aggravated assault under domestic violence and two counts of assault under domestic violence in connection with an October 2003 incident where she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend with a knife at a local fast-food restaurant and then threatened police officers who responded to the scene. She was also indicted on charges of resisting arrest, public intoxication and vandalism.
  Hudson is being held in the Carter County Jail on a $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Carter County Criminal Court on Aug. 16.
