Police investigating suspicious fire at Ingle's

  From Staff Reports
Police are investigating the cause of a suspicious fire that started in the paper products aisle of Ingle's grocery store, 397 W. Elk Ave., Sunday shortly before 9 p.m. There were no injuries.
Employees and customers were evacuated from the building due to the large amount of smoke that permeated the entire structure, but no one requested medical treatment, Elizabethton Police Department Ptl. Joy Shoun said.
Several people standing outside said they saw flames and smoke in the paper products aisle prior to hearing the fire alarm sound. "It looked like someone started it. I saw big flames and couldn't believe it," one employee, named Jessi, said.
All three divisions of the Elizabethton Fire Department responded, and there were four fire trucks on the scene.
