Legal Aid sets three-hour CLE seminar

  Legal Aid of East Tennessee will host a three-hour Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar, "Representing Children With Disabilities," on Friday, Aug. 20, from 2:30-6:30 p.m. (including registration and break) at the Tennessee Room of the Johnson City Medical Center.
  The training is open to attorneys and other legal professionals, as well as community providers, clients, parents and other interested people. The training will address special education and the juvenile justice system, ethical issues involved in representing children with special needs, and will include a juvenile court judges panel.
  Local judges taking part in the panel discussion include the Honorable Sharon Green and the Honorable Paul Wohlford. Other speakers include the Honorable Penny White, as well as Gloria Samuels and Laurie Draves of Legal Aid of East Tennessee.
  Fees for the event are $20 for attorneys who agree to take on one pro bono case for Legal Aid within the next year; $60 for attorneys who are unable to accept a case; and free to all other non-CLE participants. Pre-registration is required.
