Still time to sign up for Sycamore Shoals workshops

   There is still time to sign up for two workshops happening this Saturday at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area.
   A Natural Dyeing Workshop, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is nearly full but does have three openings left. Jo Ann Cordell will be sharing the techniques of extracting colors from native plants to dye wool. The cost is $15.
   A Flint Knapping Workshop is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Instructors Bob Estep, Chris Edens and Clark Sams will be teaching the art of chipping stone to make stone tools, such as arrowheads and related blades. The cost for this workshop is $50, which includes a comprehensive kit. There are six spots left in this workshop.
