Owner of Watauga Pharmacy dies

Dr. Julian Terrell Caudill, Sr., owner of Watauga Pharmacy for 29 years and an active member of the Elizabethton community, died Sunday. He was 84 years old.
Dr. Caudill and his wife, Altajane Holden Caudill, also a pharmacist, managed Watauga Pharmacy together. Dr. Caudill was a 1940 graduate of the University of North Carolina and a 1951 graduate of the University of Florida School of Pharmacy. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton.
Caudill was a member of the board of directors for Security Federal Savings Bank. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served in New Guinea and the Phillipines in counter intelligence. He was also a member of the First Occupational Forces in Japan during World War II.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, or friends may call at the residence 514 Caudill Place, Elizabethton.
A private inurnment will be held at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
