Plane makes emergency landing on 19-E

   A small plane made an emergency landing early this morning on the 19-E Bypass near Comfort Inn. According to the Elizabethton Police Department, a Cherokee 140 N6977W, piloted by David Livingston, was forced to land on the four-lane due to loss of fuel and electrical malfunction. Two passengers were riding in the plane -- Angela Livingston and Jack Livingston. No one was injured and no damage was done to the aircraft or surrounding property. According to the police department report, the aircraft was rented from Advanced Flight and was being flown from Tyson Airport in Knoxville to Tri-Cities when the plane was forced to land. The aircraft was towed to the Elizabethton Municipal Airport by airport personnel with the assistance of the Elizabethton Police and Fire Departments. The incident was reported at 2:06 a.m.
