Pritchard top vote-getter in constable race

   Landon Pritchard, perhaps one of the most called-upon constables in Carter County, was the top vote-getter in Thursday's constable race. Charlotte Walker, the first and only patrol officer for Watauga Police Department, is now the first female constable in the county.
   Those elected Thursday include:
   * 1st District: Larry P. Perry, 582; Landon Pritchard, 1,530;
   * 2nd District: Murriel Holtsclaw, 952; Leonard Johnson, 792;
   * 3rd District: Bobby Canter, 761; Lawrence Dial, 677;
   * 4th District: Ernest "Pete" Ensor, 778; Harvey Shaffer, 622;
   * 5th District: Joe C. Lunceford, 540; Charlotte R. Walker, 456;
   * 6th District: Richard "TT" Hicks, 778; Ross R. Potter, 1,175;
   * 7th District: Jerry Miller, 979; Kenneth Younce, 941; and
   * 8th District: Robert C. "Bob" Carroll, 976; Robert L. Gobble, 768.
