'First Friday' to feature 12 of the region's top innovative photographers

JOHNSON CITY -- "The Clicking Edge Photography Show 2" will be held Friday, Aug. 6, from 7-9:30 p.m. as part of Nelson Fine Art Center's First Friday series.
The show will feature 12 of the region's innovative photographers, according to a news release, which states that "these fine artists will present some of the best fine art photography available in this region."
Featured photographers will include Jerry Greer, Rick Jelovsek, Kimberly Miller, Paul Bishop, Burchell Pierce, David Ramsey, Erich Allen, Laura Grant, Amber Neill, Chad Parker, Marty Olsen and Benjamin Walls. These "Clicking Edge Photographers" will be on hand to discuss their work with guests at the opening, according to Dick Nelson, gallery owner.
In an effort to make Clicking Edge more interactive, prizes and "honors" will be given out in several categories with the judging being done by guests who attend the opening. Categories will include: Best Color image; Best Black and White image; Best Nature/Landscape image; Best People image, and Best In Show image.
By serving as the show's jurors, guests will have a chance to express their feelings about the photography being displayed. "We expect to have more than 300 'judges' at this show, which is a unique opportunity for those who attend to really be a part of this unique show," Nelson said.
