Early voting continues

From Staff Reports

Early voting is currently under way in Carter County and will continue until July 31.
Voting hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Early voting is being held at the Election Commission office on the second floor in room 207 of the Carter County Courthouse at 801 E. Elk Avenue, Elizabethton.
Tracy Harris, administrator of the Carter County Election Commission, advises that voters should bring an ID or voter registration card to speed the process along. Voters who do not have ID are required to complete an affidavit of identity before they will be allowed to vote.
Harris also recommends those who need to change their address appear at early voting days to do so instead of filling out the necessary forms and possibly having to vote at a different precinct on election day.
