Two escape from work detail

  JOHNSON CITY -- Police are looking for a Carter County woman and a Greene County woman who walked off a work detail here Wednesday afternoon.
  According to reports from the Johnson City Police Department, at approximately 1:30 p.m. the two females, who were both state inmates housed at the Johnson City Detention Facility, walked off a work detail at Fairmont Elementary School, 1405 Lester Harris Rd., near Mountcastle Drive.
  After discovering the two had fled, the supervisor of the work detail notified the Johnson City/Washington County 911 Communications Center and officers of the JCPD searched the area but were unable to locate the two women, identified as Deborah A. Greenwell, 38, of Elizabethton and Tonya Michelle Lester, 25, of Greeneville.
  When last seen, Greenwell was wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and black boots and Lester was wearing black jeans, a gray shirt and brown boots.
  According to JCPD Master Public Safety Officer Don Shepard, surrounding agencies have been notified about the escape and have been alerted to watch for the two women.
  Both escapees were serving sentences of less than two years on non-violent offenses, according to Shepard, who added that warrants charging the pair with escape will be on file and issued when they are caught.
