One arrested for drug possession valued at $500,000 From Staff ReportsWashington County Sheriff's Department officers on Thursday night arrested a man for possession of drugs with a street value totaling $500,000. Michua-Martinez, 26, U.S. Highway 19N, Elk Park, N.C., was arrested after police initially pulled him over for running a stop sign on Judge Vines Rd. in Washington County. Officers found 27 ounces of cocaine in a liquid detergent bottle in the trunk of the car. Martinez then led officers to 1106 Shell Rd. where 7 kilograms of cocaine and 241 pounds of marijuana were found in an unoccupied vehicle at that location. No other arrests were made in the incident. Michua-Martinez was charged with running a stop sign and possession of Schedule II narcotics for resale. He remains in the Washington County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. | |||||||
