Nave to seek re-election to commission

Phillip E. Nave will seek re-election to the Carter County Commission's 4th District seat comprised of the Eastside, Siam and Courthouse precincts.
The 4th District previously contained the Hampton, Elk Mills, Little Milligan, Siam and Courthouse districts.
Nave said he had enjoyed working with residents of the newly aligned 4th District. He said he wouldn't make any promises to voters because one commissioner could not accomplish any task alone. He said he would continue to faithfully attend meetings, study all proposals, seek the advice of his constituents and vote for the people in his district.
He said he has served on all commission committees and attended training sessions and state conventions across the state.
Nave said he understood the woes of the taxpayers and had always tried to vote for the continual progress of Carter County.
He spent several years in bowling alley construction and owned stores in Elk Mills, Butler and Mountain City. He is presently employed at the LIFT Academy.
Nave attended Carter County schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He is married to the former Judy Burrow, a teacher at Hampton Elementary.
The couple have one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jerry Bowers, and one grandchild, Sarah Bowers.
