NRA endorses Cochran
From Staff Reports
The National Rifle Association (NRA) today announced
their endorsement of state Rep. Jerome Cochran in his bid
for re-election to the 4th District in the Tennessee House
of Representatives.
"In recognition of Rep. Cochran's record helping
to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen,
the National Rifle Association of America is pleased to announce
our endorsement for his re-election to the Tennessee House
of Representatives," said Darren La Sorte, NRA's Tennessee
State Liaison in a news release issued Monday afternoon. "As
a result of his support during his time as state representative,
I am able to report to Tennessee NRA members his 'A+' rating
for the upcoming general election."
"I am pleased to have the support of the members
of the National Rifle Association as I fully support the right
to bear arms and appreciate their confidence in my past voting
record," said Cochran, R-Elizabethton. "I will continue to
fight for the constitutional rights and individual liberties
of the citizens of this state."
Cochran was elected in 2002 to represent the
4th District including all of Carter County. An attorney in
Elizabethton, he is a member of both the House Judiciary and
Transportation committees.
