Man, woman arrested for burglary

   JOHNSON CITY -- A North Carolina man and woman were arrested on Wednesday and charged in connection with a residential burglary after they reportedly contacted the owner of the residence after the burglary regarding the stolen property.
   Mel Bradley Barfield, Jr., 20, of Lexington, N.C., was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, extortion and carrying a prohibited weapon. Tina Marie Henson, 35, also of Lexington, N.C., was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and extortion.
   According to police reports, the two were arrested in connection with a burglary at 310 Car-Mol Drive which occurred on May 30. "Both subjects contacted the victim after the burglary and attempted to obtain money in order to return the stolen items," stated Johnson City Police Department Investigator Kim Brewer.
