Johnson County deputy shot in struggle

   A deputy sheriff with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department was wounded during a struggle with an armed man early Saturday morning.
   Lt. Clifton Worley was shot once in the abdomen area according to a statement released Friday by Sheriff Roger Gentry.
   Deputies responded to a call of shots fired at 1888 Crackers Neck Road in the Neva community of Johnson County shortly after midnight Friday. On arrival, officers were confronted by a 24-year-old male subject whose name was not released.
   Gentry reported officers negotiated for an hour and a half when a struggle ensued between them and the alleged perpetrator.
   Worley was airlifted to the Johnson City Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition on Friday afternoon.
   The subject is in custody at the Johnson County Jail. The incident is still under investigation.
