Wife of Tetrick Funeral Home owner dies at 88

   Frances Jane Smith Tetrick, an active Elizabethton citizen who started Tetrick Funeral Home with her husband, Don Tetrick, in 1943, died Monday at the Hillview Health Center following a lengthy illness. She was 88 years old.
   Mrs. Tetrick was a native of Joplin, Mo. and daughter of the late Charles and Ollie Rafferty Smith. She was an energetic youth who participated in swimming, diving, tennis, and fencing. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1933, and the Joplin Business College in 1935.
   Mrs. Tetrick moved to Elizabethton in 1943 when she and her husband started Tetrick Funeral Home. She remained a very active citizen of the community.
   She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton, the United Methodist Women Circle Six, and a member of the Franklin Flower Club. She was also a former member of the Elizabethton Book Club.
   She was instrumental in forming the Elizabethton Women's Golf Association of which she served as president. She was the Women's Club Champion on three occasions.
   A devoted wife, Mrs. Tetrick is survived by her husband and two sons, Bill and Richard and their wives; four grandchildren, Tyler Tetrick, Ashley Tetrick, Jared Tetrick, and Ronda Greaves; two brothers, and several nieces and nephews.
