Roan Mountain business burglarized, nearly $2,000 in cash, checks stolen

   A Roan Mountain business was broken into on April 22 and nearly $2,000 in cash and checks was taken from the store.
   Angie Miller, an employee of the Cloudland Shell, 8369 U.S. Highway 19E, reported to Carter County Sheriff's Department Deputy Brad Hamm that on the night of April 22, someone had broken into the building by kicking in the door, then broke out the window of the office door, entered the office, and took a money box and the business' bank deposit bag.
   According to reports, the money box contained approximately $1,035 in cash while the bank deposit bag contained more than $900 in cash and checks written out to the business.
