CCSD investigates alleged sexual assault
From Staff Reports
Carter County Sheriff's Department officers are
investigating an alleged sexual assault of a woman that reportedly
occurred Saturday night after the alleged victim and perpetrator
smoked cocaine.
CCSD Deputy David Ryan spoke with the alleged
victim, a 37-year-old white female, who said a male subject
known to her as "Jamal" and a female subject unknown to her
had come to her Carter County residence because she was having
a garage sale. According to her statement to police, the alleged
victim said she and the two subjects stayed at her residence
and, later during the day, smoked rock cocaine.
The woman said she woke up Sunday in a bedroom
of her residence to find her pajama bottoms and underwear
lying in the floor. She also said a scarf was tied to her
ankle. She told police she did not consent to any sexual activity
the night before and that anything sexual that had happened
was against her will.
An investigation into the alleged assault is
continuing.
