investigating car wreck

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating
a car accident involving injuries that occurred Sunday on
U.S. Highway 11E.
According to Sheriff Ed Graybeal, the accident
happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 11E and Telford
Road.
Kermit D. Boings, 35, 2719 S. Roan St., Johnson
City, failed to yield to oncoming traffic while trying to
make a left-hand turn onto 11E traveling west, according to
police, and his vehicle was hit by a car driven by Steven
J. Glowicki, 21, 126 Lynn Rd., Johnson City, who was driving
east.
Washington County EMS and the Limestone Volunteer
Fire Department responded and had to extricate Boings from
his vehicle. He was flown by Wings Air Rescue to the Johnson
City Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.
Glowicki received minor injuries and was treated
at the scene and released. The investigation is ongoing and
charges are pending.
