Local man offers reward for dog that bit him

From Staff Reports

A Carter County man who was bitten by a dog earlier this month is offering a cash reward over $200 to anyone who finds the dog and returns it to the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Rescue Center.
Robert Miller reported to police on April 12 that a Pitbull-Redbone mix dog belonging to residents on Bill Nave Loop bit him, causing a wound that makes him susceptible to Rabies if the dog hasn't been properly vaccinated.
The dog disappeared on April 13 and hasn't been seen by area residents, police or animal rescue officials, according to Miller.
Miller said the dog answers to the name "Katie", is full grown with a red coat, and weighs approximately 40 pounds.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the dog is encouraged to call the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Rescue Center at 542-3322, or the Carter County Sheriff's Department at 542-1845.
