Elizabethton man killed in boating
accident

An Elizabethton man was killed Tuesday
in a boating accident in Jefferson County.
Mack Theodore Roller, 75, of Elizabethton died
when his boat collided with another watercraft near Indian
Creek on Douglas Reservoir in Jefferson County, according
to a report issued by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency
(TWRA).
The agency reported the accident occurred shortly
before 9 a.m. on Tuesday when two boats collided near Indian
Creek on Douglas Reservoir.
Roller was the owner of a 1989 model 19-foot
Norriscraft, which was involved in the accident. Lester Dean
Adams, 68, also of Elizabethton, was a passenger in the boat.
The second boat, a 2002 model 17-foot craft was
registered to Jackie Hiram Woods, 55, of Church Hill who was
operating his boat. Bobby Neil Heath, 62, also of Church Hill,
was a passenger in the Woods' boat, according to TWRA.
All individuals were transported to Jefferson
Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. Adams, Woods, and Heath
were treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital
on Tuesday.
Officers with the TWRA are investigating the
incident. The agency will then turn over the investigation
report to the District Attorney General's office.
