Two arrested in connection with Roan Mountain robbery

   Investigators with the Carter County Sheriff's Department arrested two men over the weekend in connection with the February break-in of a Roan Mountain business.
   Bryant Lee Pinnix, 28, and Patrick Wayne Hampton, 19, both of 342 Mosier Road, Johnson City, were arrested by CCSD Inv. Todd Hamm and Inv. Laverne Julian and each has been charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $60,000 in connection with the incident which occurred at Vance's Gem Shop.
   James Howard Vance, owner of Vance's Gem Shop, 8791 Highway 19E, Roan Mountain, reported the incident on Feb. 27 to CCSD Deputy Tim Tester.
   According to reports, the break-in occurred sometime between Feb. 21 and Feb. 27 and approximately $120,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from the store at that time including 360 gold rings with gemstones, 300 sterling silver rings, 50 gold necklaces, 50 gold bracelets, nine charms, 40 gold rings and a freshwater pearl necklace.
