New Web site helps those with disabilities
From Staff Reports
The Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities
has developed a new Web site to help disabled individuals
contact service organizations for assistance. The Web site,
www.familypathfinder.org, offers information on topics such
as independent living, employment, training, and mental health
in the state.
Those who use the Web site gain access to a database
consisting of 1,400 Tennessee service providers through a
county and/or type-of-service search. "Pathfinder is a one-stop
Internet site that will quickly and easily link Tennesseans
to all types of state and national disability information.
The information will be right at their fingertips," said Wanda
Willis, the executive director of the Tennessee Council on
Developmental Disabilities.
The Pathfinder project was funded by a grant
from the Administration on Developmental Disabilities. The
Web site also offers a link to national disability-related
sites in Spanish.
