Canter seeks re-election as 3rd District constable

   Bobby Canter of Elizabethton has announced he is seeking re-election for constable in the 3rd District, serving Central, Keenburg, Watauga and Range.
   In the last four years, Sgt. Canter has worked with Carter County Sheriff's Department to investigate automobile and home burglaries, has assisted Tennessee Highway Patrol during numerous roadblocks aimed at taking drunken drivers off the road, and has worked with the First Judicial District Drug Task Force to take drug traffickers off the streets.
   Last year, Sgt. Canter assisted with more than 50 DUI cases, resulting in arrests. He routinely serves warrants and performs welfare and security checks.
   "As your constable, I will continue patrolling the neighborhoods, churches, schools and businesses in the 3rd District at all hours," Canter said.
   "In the past four years, I have put over 60,000 miles on my cruiser," he said. "I have enjoyed being your constable. Your support will be appreciated."
