Chris Stoddard volunteers time
with Boys and Girls Club
From Staff Reports
Children who have benefited from spending time
with Elizabethton-Carter County Boys and Girls Club volunteer,
Chris Stoddard, presented him with a plaque and pizza party
at the club on Wednesday afternoon.
Stoddard has been a Boys and Girls Club volunteer
for the past two years, three days a week. He is also a student
at Moody Aviation and hopes to graduate in the spring 2005.
"My experience at the Boys and Girls Club has
been nothing but positive. I have loved every minute of my
experience with each and every one of these kids. I love the
fact that I get a chance to make a difference in the life
of a child and see that difference expand beyond that child
to others around him or her," Stoddard said.
Chris spends his volunteer time helping children
do homework and assisting with programs.
This year, Chris coached one of the basketball
squads that competed at the Boys and Girls Club.
Stoddard plans to become a missionary pilot and
help other missionaries fly to remote locations and also carry
medical supplies.
