Eureka Hotel offers charm, romance

JONESBOROUGH -- Located in the heart of the historic district of Tennessee's oldest town, the Eureka Hotel offers the charm and romance of a turn-of-the-century inn without sacrificing the convenience of the new millennium.
The building which houses the Eureka was built as a private residence in 1797. Peter and Harriett A. Miller opened the Eureka Hotel in the building in 1900.
In 2000 the Eureka was completely restored to preserve the structure's fascinating history.
Each of Eureka's 16 unique guest rooms is freshly decorated in the style of the late 1800s, with a casually elegant yet homelike atmosphere. Decorations include a combination of charming period antiques and antique reproductions, as well as beautiful wall and window treatments.
Each room has a private bath, individual climate control, a ceramic tile private bath, complete with a second phone and hair dryer. Other amenities include triple-sheeted beds, state-of-the-art heat and air, voice mail, data ports for computers, extensive sound proofing and cable TV (concealed for esthetics).
Business parties or social groups can utilize the "Jury Room." Catering and event planning are available to accommodate special needs.
The Eureka's private garden with gazebo may be used for reunions and weddings. Guests can book the use of a suite of rooms or the entire hotel for their private events.
The Eureka Hotel is located at 127 W. Main St. For more information or reservations, call 913-6100 or 877-647-6100.
