Bristol Police bust two gambling operations

   Members of Bristol Tennessee Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division busted two illegal gambling operations Thursday after serving search warrants at two Bristol businesses and a warehouse.
   According to Capt. Blaine Wade, two search warrants were served at Tooties Restaurant and warehouse located on Virginia Avenue and Monte Vista Street, both owned by the same person. At the two locations, police found and seized seven illegal gambling machines, gambling machine parts and numerous records of a gambling operation. A truck used to transport the machines also was seized.
   Police arrested George Arville Vance, 60, 4050 Old Jonesboro Road, Bristol, and charged him with aggravated gambling promotion. Vance was taken to Sullivan County Detention Center where he was to be arraigned Friday morning. The investigation is ongoing and other charges are possible.
   A third search warrant was served at Lark Amusement, 824 State St., Bristol, where police found and seized more than 60 illegal gambling machines, gambling machine parts and numerous gambling records. Police also seized three vehicles and a forklift which was being used in the illegal operation.
   No charges had been placed at the time of the report. The investigation is continuing.
