Man arrested at Sullivan Co. School Board office

A Fall Branch man was arrested Thursday morning at the Sullivan County School Board office in Blountville by officers of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office and charged with going armed.
According to a news release from the Sheriff's Office, Richard Scudiere, 49, 929 Old Blairs Gap Road, Fall Branch, was arrested after police received information that a male subject was in route to the School Board office. According to the police report, the information police received indicated Scudiere was allegedly armed and distraught over a family member being expelled from the county school system.
Officers and detectives arrived at the board office. When he arrived, Scudiere was questioned by officers and advised that his driver's license was suspended. He was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. Upon further investigation, sheriff's officers reported finding a small-caliber pistol in the front area of his vehicle. He was then charged with going armed and transported to the Sullivan County Jail without incident, according to police.
Scudiere is scheduled to be arraigned today in Bristol General Sessions Court.
