Truck hits highway with ton of bricks

From Staff Reports

A Mountain City man escaped injury after the tractor-trailer truck he was driving overturned off U.S. Highway 67 near Butler early Monday evening.
Tennessee State Trooper Doug Brewer said Jason Dean Greenwell, 28, 3968 Coal Springs Rd., Mountain City, was driving east on the highway just before 5 p.m. when his truck dropped off the shoulder of the road, causing him to lose control and overturn.
Brewer said Greenwell mentioned the load of bricks he was transporting possibly shifted before the accident happened. Hundreds of bricks were buried beneath the truck's trailer off the highway while a few scattered the road.
   The accident occurred
beyond the Butler Bridge near the Carter County/Johnson County line. Greenwell complained of soreness but refused medical treatment at the scene, Brewer said. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, according to police.
The accident was still under investigation Monday night.
