Chamber ready for annual luncheon

Chamber of Commerce officials say they are prepared
for the Chamber's 67th annual luncheon which will be held
Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Truman Clark Annex of the Carter
County Health Department.
On Monday, the Chamber reported that 115 tickets
have been sold for the event. The Chamber said the number
of tickets sold this year is about average for the annual
luncheon.
Robert Reedy, of Reedy and Sykes architectural
firm, will be handing over the gavel as former Chamber president
to Duncan Street, of Carter County Bank.
On Sept. 1, 1924, the Carter County Board of
Trade was reorganized into a Chamber of Commerce, and Mr.
Harlen Dixon was elected its first president.
