E-T Relay for Life Rally set

On Saturday, Jan. 26, dedicated individuals and teams from all communities will unite to begin planning East Tennessee's involvement in the largest cancer fighting event in the nation. This unique phenomenon called the American Cancer Society Relay for Life brings together a community for a fun-filled overnight event where team members take turns making laps around a track.
Relay for Life is changing the face of cancer across the country with over 3,000 communities participating during the 2001 season, raising more than $240 million for the fight against cancer. The American Cancer Relay for Life is the time when communities participate in the cause to raise funds for cancer research, the development of new prevention and detection programs, and help the American Cancer Society continue to provide its expansive patient support programs, and further its advocacy efforts.
The East Tennessee Relay for Life Rally will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Johnson City Public Library. If you are part of the Relay for Life campaign in the Elizabethton community, you are invited to attend.
