Academy applications now available

  
The Johnson City Police Bureau is accepting applications for the 21st session of the Citizens Police Academy. The first session is scheduled for April 2.
   The nine-week academy, which consists of 45 hours of police training, is designed to develop a better understanding and awareness of the police role in the community through a hands-on approach.
   Participants must be at least 21 years old, physically able to meet training requirements, available to attend three-hour weekly sessions and one eight-hour Saturday session, available to ride with a patrol officer for two eight-hour shifts, sign required waivers and agreements and have no criminal history.
   Applications may be obtained from the JCPB Community Services Department, 601 East Main St. After 5 p.m., applications may be obtained from the JCPB Records Department.
   Deadline for registration is March 15. Applications must be returned by that date for processing.
