Veteran requests and receives American Flag

When World War II veteran Robert Davidson, a resident of Franklin Place Apartments on Stateline Road, asked the Red Cross for an American Flag, he got results.
Leigh McKeehan, director of the local chapter of the American Red Cross, received the call and immediately set things into motion.
Bob Williams of Nor-Well Co., Inc. donated the flagpole and labor. Richard Tester of White's Fresh Foods donated the flag.
A flag raising was held recently at the apartments by those responsible for the project.
Carla Jones, manager of Franklin Place, said she appreciated the flag and the community response.
"We do have veterans who live in the complex. The project demonstrates the good American spirit that resides in Carter County."
