Suspect held in JC bank robbery

   The State of Franklin Bank, 3300 Browns Mill Road, Johnson City, was robbed around 10:40 a.m. Monday by a white male armed with what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol.
   According to R. Joe Clark, Special Agent in Charge of the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Johnson City Chief of Police Ron Street, around 10:55 a.m., officers from the Johnson City Police Bureau stopped an automobile on I-181 which matched the description of the robber's getaway vehicle.
   The vehicle was being driven by Robert W. Kinnaman, 40, who was wanted by the United States Marshal's Service on a federal warrant issued in Chattanooga on Jan. 8.
   Kinnaman was placed under arrest by the officers and transported to the police department before being taken into federal custody by FBI agents and transported to the Washington County Detention Center with the assistance of the police department.
   It is anticipated that Kinnaman will be charged at some later date with Monday's robbery of State of Franklin Bank.
