Last year produced great results at Stacy's Carpet.
"We had a record year in sales, the best that we've ever had," said Leanna Morgan, who operates the carpet showroom.
Morgan says that Stacy's Carpet would like to see an increase in the foot traffic in the company's showroom and for the company's name to become more well known. "We have a full line carpet showroom," Morgan said. "We have several lines of carpet, hardwood, laminate, ceramic tile, and, of course, we can do wallpaper, custom draperies, pretty much anything for the decorating of the home. We're a full-service store, anything that we sell we can install.
"We do more residential overall, but we're always very happy to do commercial work."
Stacy's Carpet's oldest division is its carpet cleaning division. In addition to cleaning carpet, "We can also can clean upholstery. We clean draperies on location without having to take them down. We also offer the 3M Scotchguard, which is a protective finish." The firm, which also offers housecleaning and janitorial services, started as a carpet cleaning service.
The Smoke Busters division of the company was recently honored by its inclusion in the Premier Service Program of State Farm Insurance. "We're on a list of preferred contractors to do restoration work, if someone has a fire, water damage, that type thing," Morgan said.
"That sort of lets people know that we're outstanding in our field, that we can be on the Preferred Program with State Farm." Through the Smoke Busters division, Stacy's Carpet can provide roofers, masons, carpet installers, paper hangers, and dry wallers, etc.
Stacy's Carpet plans to build at its current location a new building "primarily for use with Smoke Busters. It's going to give us more facilities for doing the refurbishing customers' contents, and warehouse space. We expect to see more growth with the Smoke Busters division because of this new program with State Farm."
Brand names sold by Stacy's Carpet include Shaw, Cabin Craft, Philadelphia, Coronet, Hartco, Bruce, and Florida Tile.
Stacy's Carpet, which opened for business in 1975, is located at 145 Wilson Ave. The business is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and after hours by appointment.
Stacy's Carpet serves the area from Rogersville to Mountain City, to Abingdon, Va. The company has approximately 25-30 employees.
