When Clyde Broyles started a custom framing business 18 years ago above City Drug, 430 E. Elk Ave., Elizabethton, little did he know that it would become as popular as it is today.
Although City Drug is no longer in business, Elk Avenue Gallery & Framing is still going strong.
The specialty framing business carries a variety of moulding for customer selections. Custom framing is done on traditional prints, 8x10s, 11x14, 16x20, and shadow boxes. In addition to prints, spoons, plates, mirrors and guns are framed.
Carol White is the framing specialist. "We do a lot of work with decorators. We also carry Don Iverson prints," Ms. White said.
Elk Avenue Gallery & Framing gives free estimates. The work product is turned around in one week's time.
Open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Elk Avenue Gallery & Framing is closed on Saturday and Sunday. They may be reached by calling 423-543-2941.
